Post & Beam Homes
Logs are hand-hewn so that distinctive features such as root flares are not lost as they are when machine finished. These logs are then incorporated with conventional framing in a way that showcases the unique features of each log and
traditional joinery. Post and Beam differs from timber framing in its use of scribing which allows the builder to use the logs in their natural forms.
Post and beam construction allows for the creation of open floor plans, featuring the working structure of the building and providing options for a wide range of wall finishes.
Post and beam structures typically cost less than full log buildings, because
they require less volume of timber, though more intensive labor on each piece.
